Cities play a critical role in several aspects of effective and sustainable mobility.
These range from the provision of safe, affordable, accessible and sustainable
transport systems for all to improving and guaranteeing road safety. Public transport is
central to these policies, enhancing access for all and giving particular attention
to the rights of women, youth, people with disabilities, older persons and other
vulnerable groups.
