Arunachal Pradesh is setting new benchmarks in agricultural innovation and economic sustainability. Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Pema Khandu recently laid the foundation stone for the Centre of Excellence for Kiwi Fruit at Kardo, Lower Subansiri District an initiative designed to transform the state’s kiwi sector.
,
Equipped with modern facilities such as protected cultivation, a hi-tech nursery, mother and demo blocks, R&D initiatives, post-harvest and value-addition infrastructure, training modules, and essential utilities, the Centre will act as a catalyst for growth.

Beyond boosting production, this initiative promises to empower farmers with knowledge, create livelihoods, and open fresh market opportunities for Arunachal’s produce. The state is poised to emerge as India’s kiwi capital by focusing on value addition and advanced practices.

Where is the best place to plant kiwi fruit?
Kiwi vines need a sunny spot to produce the best growth and fruit. Plant in a protected area of the garden to avoid wind damage. Plant the vines on the north side of the yard in colder regions to minimize the risk of freeze-thaw damage in early spring, when plants are especially susceptible.
