Equipped with modern facilities such as protected cultivation, a hi-tech nursery, mother and demo blocks, R&D initiatives, post-harvest and value-addition infrastructure, training modules, and essential utilities, the Centre will act as a catalyst for growth.
Beyond boosting production, this initiative promises to empower farmers with knowledge, create livelihoods, and open fresh market opportunities for Arunachal’s produce. The state is poised to emerge as India’s kiwi capital by focusing on value addition and advanced practices.

How to grow kiwi fruit?
To grow kiwi, propagate from seeds after cold-stratifying them in the refrigerator for two months or take softwood cuttings in summer and root them in water. Plant seedlings in rich, well-drained soil with plenty of compost in a sunny spot. Kiwis are vigorous, wind-sensitive climbing vines that need a strong support structure and annual pruning. Be sure to have both male and female plants for fruit production, unless we have a self-fertile variety.
