Launched on 12th of May 2020, Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan or Self-Reliant India is Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of making India "a bigger and more important part of the global economy, pursuing policies that are efficient, competitive and resilient, and being self-sustaining and self-generating".

The initiative is a large scale economic development project for India with five main pillars of focus: economy, infrastructure, technology-driven systems, vibrant demography and demand.

The Hon'ble Prime Minister recently announced a 'Vocal for Local' campaign, and India is already following the direction. It began with banning all outside products and encouraging the consuming of indigenous products. Emphasising on a self-reliant, or ‘aatmanirbhar’, India, the government has asked that products not just be made in India, but also for the promotion of local brands, manufacturing, and supply chain.

Aatmanirbhar Arunachal

Hon'ble Chief Minister Pema Khandu on 11th of June 2020, initiated the 'Vocal for Local' campaign under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat program by directing the state’s department of textiles and handicrafts to finalise its modalities to acquire all government office requirements from local NGOs, societies, self-help groups and entrepreneurs.

Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister Shri Tage Taki while launching the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative in the agriculture sector in August 2020, emphasized on the aims of the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan and encouraged the youths to take a step, be visionary and productive in the field of sustainable and economically viable interventions such as agriculture, horticulture, fisheries and poultry enterprise.

The government’s efforts to ensure ‘vocal for local’ in Arunachal Pradesh have been pretty evident. The government, in its efforts, is trying to make sure everyone uses and promote local produce as much as they can, as well as ban lower-graded components.

Arunachal Pradesh is one of the maiden states in India yet to be explored and expand its economy through utilizing its chastity. The state has the potential to produce, create and market raw and sustainable products in the economic industry both in and out of the State and other countries. While doing so, we retain an opportunity to provide employment, boost market, increase demand & supply, and advance into economic stability.

The Government of Arunachal Pradesh seeks ideas and feedback on how Arunachal Pradesh can attain the total state of self-reliance and self-sufficiency.
