Arunachal Pradesh is all set to get its first fully functional airport soon enough, as work on the ongoing project is underway in full force under the close supervision of the Hon. Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Shri Pema Khandu Ji.

In addition to getting its first full-fledged airport, Arunachal has also operationalised two commercial flights as of yet through Alliance Airs, under the UDAN Scheme.

The Dornier-228; a Make-in-India aircraft, manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, a state-owned aerospace and defence company, had its inaugural flight at Pasighat on April 12, 2022. People can travel to the different routes via Pasighat, Dibrugarh, Guwahati, and Kolkata. The Dornier 228 aircraft operated by Alliance Air landed at Tezu airport in the Lohit district on June 2, 2022. Alliance Air currently offers flights three days a week to the residents of Tezu.

Thanks to the vision of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi envisaging 'Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik', such initiatives have landed Arunachal Pradesh on the air connectivity map. The current connectivity projects along with upcoming agendas on the pipeline will not only facilitate convenient travel for both visitors and locals, but will also boost the tourism sector in the state, further strengthening the state’s economic affairs through it.

Inviting citizens to add their perspective on the ongoing infrastructure projects in the state to boost connectivity, along with their take on how it will further impact the state’s development. In addition, what other projects should be taken up to boost the connectivity within the state?
