Emergence of athletes from Arunachal Pradesh

The year 2022 has been an incredible one for the state of Arunachal Pradesh as it saw quite a few youths bursting with talent in the field of sports emerging to steal the national spotlight. Until recently, weightlifters like Boni Mangkhiya, Kojum Taba etc. made headlines as they made national records by surpassing the previous records established by other states of India. Meanwhile other talented athletes like Markio Tario, Sambo Lapung, Shankar Lapung, Golom Tinku and Bengia Tani made the state proud by adding various medals to the collection. All of these athletes were competing in the Indian Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Youth, Junior and Senior Championship-2022 which was being held at Bhubaneswar, Odisha. With immense support and encouragement provided by the governing authorities, these young minds stand proof of the potential the state carries in representing itself in the genre of national games and sports. With emerging athletes as such, the future in the field looks promising enough for the state.
