Festivals are an indicative way to celebrate culture, heritage, and traditions of a place and its people. All festivals are cultural in one way or another and play a major role in the development of tourism.
Nowadays, festivals are noticeably expanding and with it, the significance of tourism festivals is also increasing. Not only there has been an increase in tourist traffic but it also has had many positive impacts, such as generating income for the locals which in turn have enabled to improve the quality of the festivals.
Arunachal Pradesh, the land of the dawn-lit mountains, home to picturesque valleys, mountains, unexplored paths, tranquil lakes, prominent hermitages, and an array of flora and fauna is one of the amazing getaway destinations for tourists.
Festival tourism emphasizes celebrating, promoting and exploring aspects of our art, culture, music, adventure, and nature. Its substantial influence on nature, culture, and society are the reasons why festival tourism is rapidly growing in Arunachal Pradesh. Some of the prominent tourism festivals of Arunachal Pradesh which have garnered attention over the few years are Ziro Music Festival, Tawang Festival, Dambuk Festival of Music and Adventure, Basar Confluence, Siang River Festival etc.
These festivals aim to create substantial interest for cultural heritage, such as historical monuments, tradition, sites of important events etc. as well as participation in cultural events or events related to recreation, adventure, and sports.
Not only tourists, but artists from across the globe are also enticed to such festivals, as it provides them unique platforms to introduce their music, dance, and other art forms.
What this has meant is these festivals have now the power to influence and create awareness on environmental protection, eco-tourism and development of infrastructure. Festival tourism in Arunachal Pradesh can generate a positive impact on the development of sectors such as economic, socio-cultural, political-administrative institutions, and the environment.
MyGovArunachal invites citizens to share their insights on how Festival Tourism in Arunachal Pradesh can be preserved and enhanced to assist in reforming transformation.

Tourists are much interested to enjoy village festivals . Govt should popularize them. Village festivals are much interesting than urban festivals. So many festivals are there we don't know them. We should make them famous through it.
