Importance of bringing the Agriculture sector into focus

Arunachal Pradesh being an Agrarian State has almost 94 percent of the state's rural population dependent on agriculture as the main occupation to earn their living. The State is abundantly gifted with enormous natural resources and suitable agro-climatic zones and therefore agriculture continues to be central to all strategies for planned socio-economic development of the state. Jhum cultivation, which means collective farming and it acquires central position in the agricultural sector, is the major occupation in the state's agricultural sector. Some major crops of the state are paddy, millet, wheat, pulses, potatoes, sugarcane, oilseeds, and maize. Agriculture in Arunachal Pradesh also comprise of spices, fruits, aromatic and medical plants, flowers, and mushroom.

The agricultural department of Arunachal Pradesh has been working upon implementing a number of agricultural policies with an objective to increase the economic growth of the state and assuring more employment for the uneducated class of the rural areas through agricultural activities. We also need to take a leaf out of practices from countries like China and US to enhance the sector.

MyGov Arunachal Pradesh seeks suggestions from citizens on ways to bring the agriculture sector in to focus by ways of implementing new technologies or bringing forth any success stories that will inspire.

n the year 2017 total production of food-grains was somewhere around 273.83 million metric tonne. According to a data by World Bank, Indian food-grain production is likely to reach 280.6 million metric tonne by the year 2020-21. This seems to be a reasonable growth for the sector.

However, it is important to mention here the key areas which are and can further help Indian agriculture to grow and achieve the estimated figures.

1.focus on sustainable and organic farmimg because chemicals use in agriculture is more dageorous for health.
2. Research on regional suitability for agricultural and horticultural crops.
3. increace productivity without decrease quality of the products
4. Constructions for storage and cold storage
5. provide training and machins for food processing and value addition.

With our rising population, it is eminent that we still keep our focus in accomplishing higher agricultural yield. Farmers and other units related to Agro industries must be made aware about different loan schemes and subsidized rates that Government is already offering to have them facilitate in their daily occupation. Mass campaigns should be organized, specially targeting remote villages and to make them acquaint with the new methodologies with improving science to raise quality yield

India is agricultural base and with traditional influence.But at present agriculture is facing price and market compromise and proper market channel,useless act of middle man or agents etc.To overcome,a National wide campaign on agriculture should be promoted like agricultural App ,climate condition App and proper information on agriculture should reach to unreachable.Modren technology and govt assistance is now high time to implement.Seasonal farming,pesticides and modren skills are to be taken
