Hon’ble Minister Nyato Dukam inaugurated the Tulang edible oil facility at Pasighat, established by Elam Industries. The facility marks an important step towards strengthening industrial development in Arunachal Pradesh by creating value-added processing within the State rather than relying solely on the export of raw agricultural produce.
The edible oil unit has the potential to improve market access for local farmers, provide a stable demand for oilseed crops, encourage agricultural diversification, and generate employment opportunities for youth. Such initiatives can also contribute to reducing dependence on imported edible oils while promoting local entrepreneurship and rural economic growth.
As Arunachal Pradesh continues to focus on self-reliance and sustainable development, the establishment of agro-based industries raises important questions about the future direction of the State’s economy. Processing units like Tulang could serve as a model for linking agriculture, industry, and employment in a way that benefits local communities.

1. Products:- Cow and buffalo milk, plus coarse goat/sheep wool.
2. Value-Addition Opportunities:- Rajasthan is the second-largest milk producer in India. Tremendous potential exists for producing cheese, butter, ghee, flavored milk and whey powder. Establishing integrated dairy chilling plants and processing units near the major milk belts (Jaipur, Alwar, Jodhpur, Bikaner) remains a major opportunity.

3. तकनीकी और जैविक खेती को बढ़ावा:-कृषि और बागवानी नीति (2025-2035) के तहत, राज्य में ड्रोन और एआई तकनीक का उपयोग बढ़ाना चाहिए। अरुणाचल प्रदेश पहले से ही जैविक खेती में अग्रणी है, इसलिए जैविक खाद और प्राकृतिक कीटनाशकों के निर्माण से जुड़े उद्योगों को प्रोत्साहित करना चाहिए।

छोटे उद्यमियों, स्वयं सहायता समूहों और किसान उत्पादक संगठनों को आकर्षित करने के लिए, दीन दयाल उपाध्याय स्वावलंबन योजना और आत्मनिर्भर कृषि/बागवानी योजना जैसी सरकारी क्रेडिट-लिंक्ड योजनाओं का लाभ सीधे ज़िला स्तर पर पहुँचाया जाना चाहिए।
