It has been more than 4 months since the central government announced a countrywide shutdown of educational institutes of all kind, as a measure to contain COVID-19. As per UNESCO estimations, over 154 crore students are severely impacted by closure of educational institutions across the world amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

In India, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) is formulating safety guidelines to be followed whenever classroom learning is resumed. New seating matrix, staggered classes, different mess and library rules, revamped hostels and canteens, could be part of students’ socially distant lives in schools and colleges when they return.

However, until then most educational institutions have transitioned into digital platforms for education. Parents are also trying their best to cooperate with their children’s online studies, some schools are providing online classes through apps such as Google Meet, Zoom, Instagram Live, Facebook Live, WhatsApp etc. and also conduct meetings with parents and students on a regular basis.

But there is still a huge disparity between attending school and online class, one of them being lack of facilities for students to attend the aforementioned online classes, particularly for the most marginalised children who rely solely on schools for their education. There are various resources which are required for students to attend online classes such as stable internet access, an electronic device (mobile, laptops, etc.) and so on, which some underprivileged students may be unable to afford.

My Gov Arunachal seeks your opinion on whether online classes option would truly be a fair alternative to regular classes for the students or should there be another form of education introduced in such circumstances?

School or training Institute should provide small size study material which is easy to download. Live classroom some times may not accessible for students due to poor network connectivity, so this session may be provided with compressed files and downloadable format.

This is hard time for us and also would have to accept the demand of this situation. Online education system is most acceptable way of learning in that time. But In case Arunachal Pradesh avaling online education is more tough because of poor or interrupted internet facility in the state. Most places fully detouched from internet.

It has practical issues when it comes to online classes as, a significant number of students do not have access to internet facility nor can afford the hardware needed for setting up online studies.Online education offers you the opportunity to begin training for another job and to fit your studies around your existing schedule, creating a safety net of continued income.Offline classes will be better. To start the offline classes ,there is a method.

Teacher or tutor teaches a predefined set of information, deciding what students had to learn. Students learn to pass the examination. E-learning is based on constructivist and cognitive theories suggesting that learning is individualised and the student’s past experiences and knowledge have a great impact on the newly acquired knowledge (Jonassen 1994). Blended learning refers to learning involving multiple methods and approaches, commonly a mixture of class room and e-learning

Theory behind e-learning

The meaning of knowledge and learning have changed through time. There is a certain swift in emphasis on learning, rather than teaching, as we rightly move towards a learner centred curriculum. E-learning, which is based on well documented adult learning principles, certainly facilitates a learner centred approach. Traditional education is based on instructivism theory

I will also discuss its applicability in undergraduate medical education, postgraduate medical education and continuing medical education of practicing clinicians.

Universities upload course material for the student to study individually and complete tasks based on the course material. This allows students to access the course material on the web anytime and from anywhere. Advancement in computing and information technology coupled with almost universal availability of the broadband make e-learning an enticing option in many fields including medical education. In this assignment I will be reflecting on my personal experience with e-learning

E-learning, in its broadest sense, is the use of networked information technologies in education. E-learning is also called as web based learning, online learning or Internet based learning. E-learning is not bound to time and classroom attendance – students and teachers may be at different locations on different times. One of the most common types of E-learning takes the form of distance learning courses.

Questions of cost
Online learning is frequently cheaper for students. You don’t have to invest in classroom materials, as much of it is available online. Similarly, you don’t have to factor in travel costs, which can often be prohibitive. Finally, you can live somewhere suited to your particular budget, rather than having to move close to campus.
