Arunachal Pradesh is having its first ever international film festival in the state capital, Itanagar under the aegis of the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Government of Arunachal Pradesh from 22 February – 24 February 2019. The Itanagar International Film Festival (IIFF) is a 3-day event that will be showcasing some of the finest in international and regional cinema along with a film making competition for directors from the North East.
The event will be held at the Dorjee Khandu Convention Centre and IG Park, Itanagar, and will be planned, executed and managed by the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) who will be the official Event Management Agency for the DIPR, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
A carefully curated list of events such as master classes, in-conversations and workshops, film screenings and film competitions has been included as part of the festival, with a special focus on tribal cinema from across North East India. A total of 35 to 40 films will be screened at the festival, including Indian Panorama, World Cinema, Far East Asian Films, Children’s Films, Documentary Films, Competition Section Films and Outdoor Screenings of Critically Acclaimed films of Indian Cinema. The ‘Cine NE Competition’ section of the festival will provide a platform for regional directors to showcase their talent and share their stories with a diverse audience group.
The festival also brings a unique opportunity for film lovers to learn the various aspects of cinema and the art of film making from the masters themselves as they come together to provide an assortment of classes on various topics.
